New Ibanez AW30ECEDVS Acoustic Guitar

I have been away from music for nearly a decade and have been lacking an outlet for a long while. After spending a couple of weeks mulling over what instrument I should get to reintroduce me to my creative side I finally made the decision to get a nice acoustic guitar. Enter the Ibanez AW30ECEDVS. After playing all weekend with it I feel more comfortable with my decision. The sound is very deep and rich for the price point ($350-450) and really kept its balance despite me loudly beating it down with a few tunes I recollected. The built-in tuner and equalizer is a nice addition to acoustic guitars since I last was in the market for one and certainly helped get me back on my feet when tuning it.

The dark maple finish, quality mahogany neck, subtle inlay, and attention to detail are, again, a step above what I was anticipating at the price point and suit my taste remarkably well. My only complaint, and it is minor, is with the tuner; the tuner locks into the tuned position temporarily and is not continually measuring and displaying the pitch. Tuning in this manner requires plucking the string, watching the pitch response of the tuner, tuning, silencing the string, pausing 2-3 seconds while the tuner resets, and strumming again. All in all it is a fabulous guitar for what I paid and I am very happy with it. Thus far I have been re-establishing my foundations by running through some very basic blues progressions and chord transitions. I am very much starting out as a beginner and will be humbly ramping up my skills. My fingers, to now, have not been toughened much other than some recreational rock climbing. Developing the calluses is going to be a fun few weeks; as I type this I am already feeling a growing tingling sensation. Reading this article on wikiHow put me somewhat at ease with regards to the calluses. In any case, this weekend has been very productive and I am really excited to continue my development. In a few weeks I will post updates to my progress, so stay tuned.
